  1. Shipping Cost:
    USPS Priority Mail - $12.50  (2-3 business days).
    USPS Express Mail - $25.00  (1 business day to most areas).
    USPS International Mail - $35.00  (4-7 business days).
    All shipments are covered by carrier insurance.
 
  2. Performing a System Recovery:
The Recovery Discs can be used to restore the entire (C:) drive, remove or restore the Recovery Drive partition, or modify or reconfigure RAID options. The Recovery Discs cannot be used to add partitions or modify the size of the (C:) drive. Follow this procedure to perform a system recovery using Recovery Discs.

IMPORTANT:

  • If the computer uses an external CD/DVD drive, plug in the drive according to the instructions in the User Guide. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Manufacturer Support Web site.
  • Manufacturer recommends the optional i.LINK® CD/DVD drives specifically designed as an accessory for your model, and available for purchase from the Manufacturer  Style ® Web site. Some USB optical drives may not work when attempting to start the computer using the Recovery Discs.
  • Do not interrupt the power during the recovery process. Notebook computers must be connected to the AC adapter.

NOTES:

  • If the computer includes a floppy disk drive, remove any floppy disk from the drive
  • On some models, the ability to start the computer to an external CD/DVD drive may need to be enabled in BIOS before the Recovery Discs can be used with it.
  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. Insert Recovery Disc #1 from the Recovery Media Kit into the CD/DVD drive.
  3. Turn off the computer.
  4. Turn on the computer.
  5. In the Recovery window, click to select the appropriate option to use the Recovery Wizard:

    NOTES:

    • The entire (C:) drive can be restored to its original, factory-installed condition by selecting Restore C: Drive .
    • Choosing Restore Complete System will restore the entire (C:) drive, while removing or restoring the Recovery Drive partition.
    • RAID options can be modified by selecting Reconfigure RAID . This option is not available on all models.
    • The default configuration for these computers includes only a (C:) drive. There is no capability within the Recovery Wizard or the Recovery Media Kit to add partitions or modify the size of the (C:) drive.
 
  3. Order Payment:
    For USA orders we accept Visa and MasterCard Credit Cards, USPS Money Order payments.
    For International orders we accept payments trough Western Union only.
 
  4. Back-Up Recovery Set (BCRS):
    Back-Up recovery sets made from originals and 100% compatible.
    Back-Up recovery set will restore your computer to original factory settings like originals.
 
  5. Order Processing Time:
    REGULAR orders will process and ship from the warehouse in 3 business days.
    NBD (Next Business Day) orders will process and ship from the warehouse within 1 business day.
    SBD (Same Business Day) orders will process and ship from the warehouse within same business day.
    Manufacturer  ORS orders will process and ship from the warehouse within 3-5 business days.
    The total time till you receive order is calculated by adding processing time and shipping time.
 
  6. Windows License Key:
    We do not provide the License Key for Windows.
    The License Key for Windows should be attached on the bottom (Laptops) or back (Desktops) of your PC.
 
  7. Windows OS:
    Yes, the Windows OS comes with the recovery cd's.
 
  8. Order Cancellation:
    You may cancel your order at any time before the shipping day.
    To do so go to your order status page and use 'Cancel Order' link.
    If your order has been shipped and you want to cancel it, the shipping charge will apply.
    You should take the package to your local Post Office and refuse it, the package must be unopened.

10. Model Name or Number:
 
For laptop computers released Summer 2009 or later:

Note 1: If you own a configured-to-order laptop:

For configured-to-order or built-to-order laptops, the full model number is located on a sticker on the bottom of the computer.

Note 2: If your laptop was not configured-to-order:

For pre-configured retail laptops, the full model number is not located on the case of the computer. Please use one of the methods below to retrieve the model number.


Method 1:

Click the Start button and then click All Programs. In the All Programs menu, click the VAIO Care folder. Click VAIO Care. The model number is displayed in the bottom of the VAIO Care window.
(e.g., VGN-FW550F)


Method 2:

Click the Start button, then click (My) Computer. Click Local Disc C:. Next click Windows. Click the file named Model or Model.txt*. The file will show the model number. (e.g., VGN-FW550F)

Note: If this file is blank, look for a second file with the same name and open that file.

For laptops released between Fall 2000 and Spring 2009:
 

The model number is located on a small label located on the frame around the computer screen. (e.g., VGN-FW550F)

 

For laptop computers released before Summer 2000:

The computer information and compliance label, located on the bottom of the laptop case, indicates the actual model number. (e.g., PCG-N505VX)
 
 
Desktop computer model numbers begin with the letters "PCV", "VGC" or "VPC", and are located on a small label on the front of the main computer unit (case or tower).

Note: The "model" number listed on the gray sticker on the back of the computer will not give you the correct information.

You can also access the model number using Method 2 or 3 below.

Method 1:

Locate the small sticker on the front of the tower. (e.g., VGC-RC210G) On All-In-One desktop computers, the number is located on the right front of the computer. (e.g., VPC-L137FX)

 

Method 2:

Click the Start button, then click (My) Computer. Click Local Disc C:, then clickWindows. Click on the file named Model orModel.txt.* The file will show your model number.

Note: If this file is blank, look for a second file with the same name and open that file.

Method 3:

Click the Start button and then click All Programs.
  • In the All Programs menu, click VAIO Care folder.
  • Click VAIO Care.
  • The model name is displayed along the bottom of the VAIO Care window. (e.g., VGN-FW550F)

    Combination Label:

    Some models may have all model information combined on one white barcode label located on the bottom of the computer. The label may be located anywhere on the bottom of the computer so it may be necessary to look carefully to locate it

    Separate Product Code / Serial Number and Service Tag Labels:


    On other models, the Product Code and Serial Number are located on a small white barcode label and the Service Tag (only on some models) is located on a second label on the bottom of the computer or behind the battery. The labels may be located anywhere on the bottom of the computer so it may be necessary to look carefully to locate them.
